My name is Kristie Pierce and I have been a practicing school psychologist for 21 years.  This is my third year working for the Prickly Pear Special Education Cooperative.  My absolute passion as a school psychologist is working with students, families, and teachers to better the educational experiences for students who don't fit "the norm" and need different supports to reach their potential, experience success, and gain confidence.  Working to identify educational barriers for kids whether academically or behaviorally is what I feel is my most important role as an educator.  My philosophy is that kids do well when they can and if they aren't doing well............. then they are missing tools/skills and we need to work together to figure out what those are; even if it takes us outside of our comfort zone as educators.  You can not change behavior or academic performance without changing the environment and our responses.
